Huntington Storm Coverage and Updates
- If your street is not plowed properly, go to Councilman Mark A. Cuthbertson’s Facebook page and either post your street in the comments, send an inbox message to him, or report the issue via the Highway Department’s online portal here:
- How Much Snow Fell in Huntington?— Six Long Island towns topped the 2-foot mark, according to unofficial National Weather Service reports.
- Travel Ban to Be Lifted Sunday Morning, 30+ Inch Snow Totals Likely on Long Island— Two storm-related deaths have been reported. The Long Island Expressway and Northern State Parkway will remain closed overnight.
- Huntington Snowfall Totals (So Far)— Unofficial figures from the National Weather Service are out, but they are expected to climb considerably by the end of the day.
- The Long Island Expressway and Northern State Parkway will close Saturday afternoon. As of 2:30 p.m., all New York State roadways will be closed. The Long Island Rail Road will also stop running at 4:00 p.m.
- From the Huntington Animal Shelter: If you happen to find a loose dog during the blizzard, call Public Safety at (631) 351-3000.
- How Much Snow Has Fallen in Huntington So Far?— The first figures from the National Weather Service are out, but they are expected to climb considerably by the end of the day.
- State of Emergency Declared in Suffolk County— Suffolk Police already received calls for over seven accidents as of 8 a.m. Saturday, County Executive Steve Bellone said.

Closings and Delays:
- All Suffolk County Transit and SCAT bus routes are suspended for Saturday.
- The Huntington Public Library is closed Saturday. All programs for the weekend have been cancelled.
- Happy Day Express and all events at HHRM will be cancelled Saturday.
- All HART Bus service – fixed route and paratransit – is cancelled for Saturday.
- The Dix Hills Ice Rink will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
- All scheduled programming at Coindre Hall is canceled for Saturday and Sunday.
- The Town’s Recycling Center will be closed to the public on Saturday.
- The Senior Beach House in Centerport will be closed on Sunday.
- No decision has been made about Saturday refuse pickup in commercial districts.
