ICYMI: Huntington Junior Named To All-State Football Team

HUNTINGTON, NY — Nasir Youngblood, a junior running back at Huntington High School, saw his breakout football season rewarded when he was named to the all-state football team, the Huntington Union Free School District announced via news release.
Youngblood rushed for more than 1,200 yards and scored 18 touchdowns for the Blue Devils this season. The New York State Sportswriters Association recognized him with the statewide distinction.
He rushed 138 times for 1,260 yards for an average of 9.1 yards per carry; nearly a first down each time he touched the ball. His 18 touchdowns place him among Suffolk's leaders. He also helped lead the Blue Devils to the playoffs, where he scored a pair of touchdowns in a loss at North Babylon.

The speedy Youngblood also runs on Huntington's championship winter and spring track teams. He's known for his effusive and affable personality.
"I feel that football went well," Youngblood said about the 2019 season according to the release. "Sadly, we lost in the first round, but we win some, we lose some. It only makes us better. But overall, the season went very well. We just have to improve on our mistakes."
