TOWN OF HUNTINGTON, NY — Two lanes are expected to be closed overnight on the Long Island Expressway in the Town of Huntington, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.

The eastbound right and center lanes will be closed between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. at Round Swamp Road (Exit 48). The closure is meant to provide a safe work zone as workers make repairs to the bridge joint at the Round Swamp Road overpass.

Electronic message signs in the area will alert drivers to closure information.

As with most road and bridge projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather. The NYSDOT said it appreciates the patience and cooperation of motorists and the local community while the project is being worked on.
