Long Island Weather: Gorgeous, Warm And Sunny All Week

LONG ISLAND, NY — You probably noticed, but today is absolutely gorgeous on Long Island. And the good news is that the temperatures are going to be nearly this warm all week, and the skies just as clear (with the exception of one night of possible showers).

While it's not quite beach weather yet, today is still very warm for this time of year. The high for today is expected to hit 60 degrees, and then only drop to 45 tonight, according to the National Weather Service. And while that's the highest the temperatures are going to get, the rest of the week won't be far off.

The rest of the week should also have sunny or partly sunny skies. The exception is Tuesday, when there's a low chance of showers starting in the afternoon and through the night. But that should clear up by Wednesday. There's also a chance of showers on Friday.

This Afternoon: Sunny, with a high near 60. Southwest wind 13 to 15 mph.

Tonight: Mostly clear, with a low around 45. Southwest wind 6 to 9 mph.

Tuesday: A 30 percent chance of showers after 2 p.m. Increasing clouds, with a high near 57. Breezy, with a southwest wind 8 to 13 mph increasing to 16 to 21 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph.

Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 11 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 42. Southwest wind 10 to 17 mph becoming northwest after midnight.

Wednesday: Sunny, with a high near 53. Northwest wind around 9 mph.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 40.

Thursday: Partly sunny, with a high near 50.

Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 40.

Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 53.

Friday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 39.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 52.
