5 People Injured In 5-Car West Hills Crash
One car overturned in the crash, which happened Thursday evening.

WEST HILLS, NY — There were at least five people injured in a five-car crash in West Hills on Thursday evening.
The Huntington Community First Aid Squad was called to Jericho Turnpike near Brooks Avenue at 5:39 p.m. for a report of a collision with an overturned car, according to its Facebook post. The Huntington Manor Volunteer Fire Department and Suffolk police also responded.
Eight people were involved in the crash; the five injured were treated by emergency medical technicians. Four were brought to Huntington Hospital, while one was taken to Nassau University Medical Center.

"Fortunately there were no fatalities and all first responders went home safely," the Huntington Community First Aid Squad wrote.
The overturned vehicle required heavy rescue extrication which was done by Huntington Manor firefighters and Suffolk Police Emergency Services. A second vehicle required the door to be forced open using hydraulic extrication tools by Huntington Manor firefighters.

The Huntington Community First Aid Squad responded with four Advanced Life Support ambulances and two paramedic first responder vehicles. A total of 17 EMS professionals responded to the alarm along with two dozen volunteer firefighters, two heavy rescue vehicles and several class A fire trucks. Suffolk County Police ESU was also on scene with hydraulic extrication tools.
