Obituary: Joseph Manaker, 16, Huntington High School Student
"His larger-than-life personality could quickly bring a smile to anyone's face," the Huntington School District said.
Joseph Manaker, a student at Huntington High School, passed away on Thursday after a long battle with illness. He was 16 years old.
Joey touched the hearts of many people in the Huntington community, the Huntington School District wrote on its Facebook page.
"His larger-than-life personality could quickly bring a smile to anyone’s face," according to the district. "His teachers will fondly remember his presence in the classroom. He was well known for his talents on the big stage, performing in several drama club productions. He was also an avid sports and Blue Devil fan – a regular at home contests."

A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday at A.L. Jacobsen Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1380 New York Ave. in Huntington Station, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral mass will be held on Thursday at St. Hughs of Lincoln, located at 21 E. 9th St. in Huntington Station, at 9:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Huntington Rural Cemetery, located at 555 New York Ave. in Huntington.
