Obituary: Michael Colangelo, NYPD Officer From Huntington Station

Michael Joseph Colangelo III, of Huntington Station, died on Sunday, May 20 at age 31.

Beloved husband of Katherine (Berger). Survived by his mother and father Ellen (Reynolds) and Michael Colangelo II.

Colangelo was a NYPD officer assigned to the Canine Unit. He, along with fellow NYPD officer John M. Martinez, was killed in a Maserati crash in Upstate New York.

Reposing will take place at the Beney Funeral Home, located at 79 Berry Hill Road in Syosset. Visitation will be held Thursday May 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 25 at 11 a.m. at St. Edward the Confessor R.C. Church, located at 205 Jackson Ave. in Syosset. Interment to follow at Holy Rood Cemetery.
