Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo Memorial Spray Park Opens In Elwood
The park was built in memory of the Greenlawn native, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2016.
A grand opening ceremony was held on Wednesday for Sgt. Paul Tuozzolo Memorial Spray Park, which was built in memory of the Greenlawn native, who was tragically killed in the line of duty in 2016.
At the ceremony, Tuozzolo's two young sons, Austin and Joseph, had the honors of pushing the water-activating buttons to open the spray park.
Tuozzolo's wife Lisa and her sons had an active role in designing the spray park. In May, Austin and Joseph stopped by the construction site to create handprints in the sidewalk just outside the entrance gate.

"I'm so excited to be able to see his memory and legacy live on through this park, and of course, shortly after this dedication, play in this spray park with my boys," Lisa Tuozzolo said.
The spray park was built at the 4,900-square area of Elwood Park and offers 2,500 square feet of active play features. The spray park also features a shade structure, eight blue park benches and a memorial trellis naming the spray park.
