Southdown Coffee Wins 3rd Place In National Coffee Competition

The Long Island-based coffee company recently took home third place in a national competition.

Southdown Coffee, a coffee roaster with stores in Huntington and Oyster Bay, won third place in the U.S. Coffee Championships.

The Long Island-based coffee shop took home third place in the Roaster category of the competition, which celebrates speciality coffee in America.

"All I can say is thank you to the incredible staff at Southdown Coffee for inspiring me every day, my brilliant coach @noodleonland, Paolo of @regaliacoffee for his guidance, and @uscoffeechamps for putting on an amazing event," Mark Boccard of Southdown wrote on its Facebook page. "Coffee has taught me so much about myself and the world around me, and while this may be the culmination of a lot of hard work, it also feels like the beginning. I can’t wait to get back to doing what we do best. "

Boccard traveled to Kansas City, Missouri for the competition, which attracted about 200 coffee professionals from all over the country.
