HUNTINGTON, NY — The Long Island Fall Festival goes down this weekend, with residents getting to experience food, beverages and live music. Among the performers are Kelly and Kat Montenero, sisters who live in Centerport and went to Harborfields High School.

Kelly, 21, and Kat, 19, will sing their original music, as well as popular covers, on the Chapin Stage at Hecksher Park this Saturday during the festival. The duo is scheduled to hit the stage from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

"There’s nothing like singing to an audience in your hometown, we're so excited!," Kelly told Patch via email.

In 2014, the sisters won a National Disney competition, the "Disney Frozen Sing Your Heart" contest. The competition saw people vote online for videos of singers performing hit song "Let it Go," from Disney's "Frozen." They also appeared in a commercial during the American Music Awards, singing their harmonized rendition of "Let It Go." They received millions of votes online and were honored by both the Town of Huntington and the Suffolk County Legislature.

Following that success, they've been working on developing their original songs, which they're eager to perform in front of a hometown crowd.

"Singing our original songs at the festival we’ve been coming to since we were little, is amazing," Kat said "A dream!"

The girls have spent the past year working with Adrian Young, the drummer from the band No Doubt, recording songs for an extended play. Along with Quinn Luke, Young has both produced their songs and played on the tracks.

Two tracks, "Nobody Knows" and "One Day," have been released by Kelly & Kat.
