Top 10 Huntington Photos of 2010

From the board room to the ball field, Huntington Patch documented the year's biggest stories with equally memorable photos.

proved to be a defining issue for Huntington residents in 2010. And if you were one of the souls packed into the board room when the vote was handed down on Sept. 21, the electricity and emotions were palpable.

Huntington Patch was there in force. In fact, when the fire marshal locked down the board room, he also denied access to Newsday's photographer. But Patch contributor Richard Slattery snapped away from a strategic spot next to town spokesman A.J. Carter, capturing the groundswell of emotions when the was finally announced.

Slattery's photos were online before the meeting was even over. And several months later, his image of rival factions reacting to the vote is just as compelling. It is one of 10 memorable images from in and around Huntington in 2010. Here are the rest:
