Roads To Avoid For Drivers During Huntington St. Patrick's Parade

Suffolk police warned drivers of impending road closures for Sunday's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Huntington.

HUNTINGTON, NY — Suffolk police is issuing a traffic advisory for drivers in the Huntington area ahead of the Village's 86th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade on Sunday.

New York Avenue will be closed from the Long Island Railroad station north to Main Street. Main Street will be closed between Spring Road and Lawrence Hill Road. The closures will be between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., according to police. Drivers should use Pulaski Road as a detour for eastbound and westbound traffic.

On-street parking will be prohibited after 4 a.m. on New York Avenue and Main Street, police said. Drivers were told to use alternate routes. In addition to regulating traffic, the police department will be enforcing Town ordinances and state laws related to the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages.

The Huntington St. Patrick's Day Parade starts 2 p.m. Sunday and will go off rain or shine. It will start on New York Avenue near the Huntington Train Station and march through Main Street.
