Undefeated St. Anthony's Girls Soccer Reaches National Rankings

A near-flawless start has the team finally gaining national recognition.

MELVILLE, NY — It may have taken 11 games and a near-perfect 10-0-1 record, but the St. Anthony's High School girls soccer team is finally gaining well-earned national attention.

The team burst back into the US Soccer Coaches national rankings at No. 22 in the rankings that came out Oct. 8. The team is virtually guaranteed to have a higher ranking next week, as the 8-0-1 record shown on the poll is as of Oct. 6. St. Anthony's has since shut out both St. Dominic 7-0 and Holy Trinity 6-0, outscoring them by a 13-0 margin.

The lone "blemish" in the team's record is a 0-0 tie with Kellenberg, but it was enough to drop them out of the rankings after the third week of the season, when they were ranked No. 24. The team has since rattled off six straight wins, outscoring opponents 31-2 during that stretch. Overall this season, St. Anthony's has outscored opponents 52-5.
