Virtual Crafting to Support Local Museum
The Whaling Museum offers three craft kits to support programming
Looking for something to do during the cool Fall evenings? The Whaling Museum is offering 3 new craft kits that can be done at home! It's also a great way to support this 84-year-old institution during what has been a hard time financially. After being closed for months, the museum is now open weekends, with limited in-person programming due to social-distancing restrictions.
"We wanted to continue our education programs, but had to pivot to a virtual platform," explains Assistant Director Cindy Grimm. "Our educators reworked some of our outreach lessons and were able to create adorable craft kits the public can purchase and pick up at the museum, and then access the educator's lesson online at any time."
Kits can be purchased online with 100% of the purchase supporting museum education programming. Visit www.cshwhalingmuseum.org/events for more details.
