Volunteers Spend Saturday Restoring Huntington's Old Burial Ground
Dozens of bags were filled with brush and litter by the end of the morning.

Volunteers spent their weekend raking leaves, clearing branches, picking up litter and snipping away sticker bushes from historic gravestones at the Old Burial Ground in Huntington as part of a restoration and beautification event on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Members of the community filled dozens of bags with brush and litter by the end of the morning. The cleanup was part of Councilwoman Susan A. Berland’s annual “Keep Huntington Beautiful” campaign.
“I really enjoy the ‘Keep Huntington Beautiful’ events and this cleanup at the Old Burial Ground is a fall favorite,” Berland said in a press release. “This cemetery is one of many sites in Huntington that contribute to the Town’s rich history and our volunteers always enjoy learning more about it.”
