A winter weather advisory will be in effect for Long Island from 7 p.m. Friday until noon Saturday.

Nassau County and northwestern Suffolk County will likely see 2-4 inches of snow, with the highest amounts expected farther west and closer to the north shore, according to the National Weather Service. The rest of Suffolk County will likely see 1-3 inches. Once again, the highest amounts are expected closer to the North Shore.

Sleet will likely mix with the snow overnight. Plan on slippery road conditions, the NWS says.
