2 Women Arrested In Miller Place Massage Parlor Raid: Police

The women were giving unlicensed massages, police say. The spa was closed due to the violations, police say.

MILLER PLACE, NY — Two women were arrested in connection with giving unlicensed massages when Suffolk police participated in a raid at a Miller Place massage parlor on Thursday, police said.

An investigation was conducted at Shangri-La Spa & Bodywork, at 832 Route 25A, around 8 p.m. Thursday, in response to numerous community complaints, police said. Police were joined by the Town of Brookhaven Investigator, the Town of Brookhaven Fire Marshal, and the Town of Brookhaven Building Inspector, police said.

Chao Ma, 36, of Flushing, and Li Huang, 37, of Flushing, were arrested and charged with unauthorized practice of a profession — a Class E Felony under the New York State Education law — police said. The Town of Brookhaven Investigator and Fire Marshal issued multiple violations to the tenant, police said. The establishment was closed by the Brookhaven Town Building Inspector as a result of the violations, police said.

Ma and Huang are scheduled to be arraigned on April 20 at First District Court in Central Islip.
