2. John Hanc pens a Father's Day feature story about a Coram schoolteacher who was known for his prodigious woodcarvings. The late Howard Kleiner created whimsical carvings with a pocketknife from boyhood until his death at 91 in 2019. He spent time sharing his creations with friends at the Mount Sinai Senior Center. 3. Lisa Finn has the update on Riverhead's Alive on 25 street fair, which is back this summer. It starts Thursday, July 1, with fireworks at 9:15 p.m. on the Peconic Riverfront and also takes place on July 15, July 29, and August 12, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. (Patch)
4. Lisa Finn also has the story on a father arrested for drunk driving with a minor in the car on Father's Day. Denis Perez-Flores, 27, from Central Islip, was charged with Leandra's Law DWI, endangering the welfare of a child, and operating a vehicle without a valid license. He was driving west on Sound Avenue near Northville Tpke. (Patch)

- The Mount Sinai Heritage Trust has upcoming summer events in Heritage Park: June 25 through July 4 is a summer carnival. Summer camp is scheduled for July 12 to August 13. Outdoor movie nights and summer concerts are also on tap.
- On June 19, the Town of Brookhaven Black History Commission (BHC) held its annual “Juneteenth” party to commemorate the 156th anniversary of the end of slavery in 1865. The event, at the Longwood Estate in Ridge, featured a BBQ picnic, games, music, dancing and children's games. (Town of Brookhaven)
- Two Albert G. Prodell Middle School students in Shoreham-Wading River got into The Institute of Creative Problem Solving for Gifted and Talented Students at SUNY Old Westbury: Alicia Minty and Julianna O’Neill. (Facebook)
