Blood Drive, Donation Drive & More

Here's a rundown of some interesting and important upcoming events in the Miller Place-Rocky Point area.

1. On Tuesday, you get your chance to give back as St. Charles Hospital is holding a blood drive. Held at the Wisdom Conference Center, the drive kicks off at 7 a.m.

2. The Town of Brookhaven will hold a special public hearing on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at town hall regarding the acceptance of the Carmans River Conservation and Management Plan and the draft of the related SEQRA statement.

3. Learn the geological origins of Cedar Beach in Mt. Sinai at a "sunset seminar" given at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The event will be led by State Assemb. Steve Englebright, D-Setauket, who has a background in geology.

4. A donation drive for school supplies kicks off on Monday, as Suffolk Federal Credit Union is accepting donations through the end of the month. Drop by the Miller Place location on Route 25A with supplies, which will benefit children in underserved communities.
