1. Peggy Spellman Hoey updates us on the indictment of the man who attacked a woman in Coram last month on a trail. Jesse Diaz, 29, is from Shirley, and the Suffolk DA office says he "came up from behind a woman walking on a wooded path in Coram, then dragged and choked her until she passed out before he raped her." He is charged with two felonies: first-degree rape and second-degree strangulation. (Patch)

  • A resolution passed to transfer 5.17 acres in Mount Sinai from Suffolk County Department of Public Works to the Suffolk County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. The undeveloped property will remain open space. (Patch)
