Funeral Services Set For Teen Killed in Long Island Crash
Police are advising motorists of traffic delays due to the wake and funeral of 18-year-old Melissa Marchese.

The Suffolk County Police Department is advising motorists of traffic delays due to the wake and funeral for Melissa Marchese, the Shoreham-Wading River High School student who was killed in a crash last week.
The wake will be held at Branch Funeral Home, located at 551 Route 25A in Miller Place, on Thursday, June 20 from 7 pm to 9 p.m. and Friday, June 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Marchese’s funeral procession will leave the funeral home at about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 22 and travel to St. Mark’s Church located at 105 Randall Road in Shoreham.

Police are urging drivers to find alternate routes during these times.
Marchese, of Shoreham, played softball and basketball at Shoreham-Wading River High and was headed to the Hartford University to play Division I softball next fall.

"Melissa’s family and friends remember her as brilliant, funny, and kind," Gregory Woodward, University of Hartford's president, said in a statement on the school's website. "In a final act of generosity, she was an organ donor, saving the lives of others."
