Hazardous Weather Outlook Extended
BREAKING: There's about a 30 percent chance of flash flooding on Long Island, the National Weather Service says.
The National Weather Service has extended a hazardous weather outlook for Long Island as approaching heavy rain brings flooding concerns.
There's a chance of rain Thursday night and then rain becomes likely after midnight. It's expected to keep falling through the morning in Nassau County and western Suffolk County. A heavy rain threat will continue into the afternoon on the East End. There's also a slight chance of thunderstorms for the entire island.
There's about a 30 percent chance of flash flooding on the island, the NWS says.

Thursday Night- Cloudy, with a low around 70. Southeast wind around 6 mph.

Friday- A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8am, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8am and noon, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Cloudy, with a high near 77. East wind 10 to 14 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between 1 and 2 inches possible.
Friday Night- A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Southwest wind 7 to 9 mph.
Saturday- A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph.
Saturday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 65. Northwest wind 6 to 8 mph.
Sunday- Sunny, with a high near 81.
Sunday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 66.
