BREAKING: The Tuesday evening commute may be impacted. The latest on what you need to know about a round of snow approaching the island.
Snow is expected to begin falling across Long Island Tuesday afternoon, and it could slow things down on the roadways for the evening commute.
A total of 1-2 inches is expected to accumulate on the island Tuesday, when the high temperature will be near 35 degrees, the National Weather Service says.
There's about a 45 percent chance of more than an inch of snow and about a 20 percent chance of more than 2 inches.

“Accumulating snow will be relatively brief, lasting six hours or less in most places, due to the storm’s rapid trek southeastward," AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Mike LeSeney says.
