Long Island Weather: The Latest On Weekend Snow Threat
The last weekend of winter could bring a little snow to the island.
The last weekend of winter is expected to bring a little snow to Long Island.
Currently the forecast is for an inch or less of accumulation, but there is about a 30 percent chance of more than an inch, the National Weather Service says.
There will be a chance of snow Saturday morning, and it's expected to rain the rest of the day. Another chance of snow will come early Sunday morning, the NWS says.

"After lingering chances of snow Sunday morning east of the city, it dries out Sunday afternoon and remains dry through Monday as high pressure shifts in from the west," the NWS says.

Thursday Afternoon- Sunny, with a high near 34. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Breezy, with a west wind 21 to 23 mph, with gusts as high as 34 mph.
Thursday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 18. Wind chill values between 10 and 15. Northwest wind 9 to 17 mph.
Friday- Sunny, with a high near 37. Wind chill values between 10 and 20. Northwest wind 8 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Friday Night- Increasing clouds, with a low around 29. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm after midnight.
Saturday- A chance of snow before 9am, then a chance of rain and snow between 9am and noon, then rain likely after noon. Cloudy, with a high near 42. East wind 10 to 16 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Saturday Night- Rain likely before 1am, then a chance of rain and snow between 1am and 3am, then a chance of snow after 3am. Cloudy, with a low around 33. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Sunday- A 30 percent chance of snow before 7am. Partly sunny, with a high near 40.
Sunday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.
Monday- Sunny, with a high near 42.
Monday Night- A 30 percent chance of rain after 1am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 33.
Tuesday- A 30 percent chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 45.
