LI Couple Charged With Animal Cruelty
Detectives discovered four dogs, 19 cats and a snake living in deplorable conditions in their home, the SPCA says.
A Sound Beach couple has been charged with animal cruelty after Suffolk County SPCA detectives found two dozen animals living in "deplorable conditions" in their home, authorities said.
Crystal Porter, 30 and Daniel Barker, 43, were arrested on Wednesday, the SPCA says. Detectives discovered four dogs, 19 cats and a snake living inside their home. They did not release the address.
All of the animals were removed from the home and transported to Brookhaven Animal Shelter where they will be evaluated by a veterinarian. The home was deemed uninhabitable and condemned by the Town of Brookhaven.
