Long Island 1st Responders Help Deliver A Baby Boy
The woman, in labor in her home's hallway, was helped by a Suffolk police officer and two paramedics from the Rocky Point Fire Department.
ROCKY POINT, NY — Three first responders on Long Island helped a woman who went into labor in her home deliver a baby boy before rushing her off to a local hospital, Suffolk County police said Saturday.
Police said that at about 7:30 a.m. 7th Precinct Police Officer Jason Famoso responded to a 911 call reporting a woman in labor at her home on Nautilus Drive, and when he and Rocky Point Fire Department paramedics Kim Pokorny and Nick Pobat arrived, Courtney Montanez was in labor in the hallway of her home. The three were able to help Montanez through her labor and the delivery of her son, according to police.
Montanez, 30, and her newborn son were transported to St. Charles Hospital in Port Jefferson, where they were listed “in good condition,” police said.
