Police say the man broke windows, damaged the interior of the house, and threatened police after a dispute with his landlord Sunday.
ROCKY POINT, NY — A Rocky Point man was arrested after he armed himself with what appeared to be a rifle and barricaded himself inside his Rocky Point home for nearly four hours Sunday, Suffolk police said.
The landlord for the property located at 56 Shell Rd. called 911 at 6:30 p.m. to report that her tenant, 39-year-old Damien Loecher, had locked himself inside the residence following a verbal dispute, police said.
Suffolk County Seventh Precinct police officers, Emergency Service Section officers and members of the Hostage Negotiation Team responded to the scene. Loecher exited the rear of the home at approximately 10:15 p.m. following a standoff, during which time he broke windows, damaged the interior of the house and threatened police, police said.
