Man In Critical Condition After Miller Place Crash

Police believe the 75-year-old man may have suffered a medical event prior to the crash.

MILLER PLACE, NY — A 75-year-old man may have suffered a medical incident before crashing his SUV in Miller Place Saturday morning, police said.

Stephen Laudani was traveling in his 2021 Dodge Durango south on Radio Avenue when the SUV veered off the roadway and crashed into shrubbery at about 0:20 a.m.

Laudani, of Miller Place, was not conscious and officers and EMTs performed CPR on Laudani.

Laudani was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson and was then transferred to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore in critical condition. The vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
