Police ID Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Miller Place Crash

Police say the driver of a car turned in front of the motorcyclist Sunday afternoon.

MILLER PLACE, NY – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a crash in Miller Place Sunday afternoon.

According to Suffolk Police, 69-year-old Margaret Befanis was driving a 2017 Nissan Sentra east on Route 25A and was turning left into North Country Plaza when a 2017 motorcycle being operated by Joseph Sinacore struck the car at 1:40 p.m.

Sinacore, 27, of Miller Place, was airlifted via Suffolk County Police helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. Befanis, of Port Jefferson Station, was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson with minor injuries.
