This week the Town of Brookhaven dedicated a memorial to veteran PFC Joseph Dwyer at Veterans Park in Rocky Point. PFC Dwyer served in Iraq as an Army Medic and died after battling Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. The statue depicts a photograph of PFC Dwyer as he rescues an Iraqi boy who was injured in 2003.
