PD Seeks Info On Vandalism At Mount Sinai Heritage Trust Center
There was damage to security cameras, a fence, the soda machine, and locks, Suffolk police said.
MOUNT SINAI, NY — Suffolk County Police are seeking information on whoever vandalized the Mount Sinai Heritage Trust Center.
Police said there was damage to security cameras, a fence, the soda machine, and locks that were reported on June 3. Officials at the park said there was a "rash of vandalism that has damaged the Shack," which is where the bathrooms and vending machines are located, according to a community newsletter.
"As a not-for-profit organization, that has not had consistent revenue for the past 15 months, we cannot afford to keep fixing malicious damage to this building," the newsletter stated. It encouraged members of the community to report any vandalism straight away to Brookhaven Town's parks department or the police.
