Rain, Possible Thunderstorms For Long Island Tuesday

We've got your full workweek forecast, which includes wind chills in the teens and snow showers.

No, it's not the most depressing day of the year. That's not until Blue Monday on Jan. 16. But the weather is certainly going to make a back-to-work Tuesday more depressing than usual.

Light rain is expected to overspread the region by mid-morning and then pick up in intensity in the afternoon, the National Weather Service says. The rain will continue through the evening, which may also feature a thunderstorm or two on Long Island.

The precipitation will taper off overnight, but not before up to an inch of rain falls on the island.
