Special Weather Statement Issued For Long Island
BREAKING: Take it slow out on the roads today.

The National Weather Service has issued the following special weather statement for Long Island:
Fog has become locally dense. Widespread visibilities under one mile have been reported, and many locations have fallen to under a half a mile. If driving, slow down, use your low beam headlights...and leave plenty of distance ahead of you in case a sudden stop is needed.
Some good news: The heavy rain has already moved east of the island after dropping an inch or two on the region.
