The following special weather statement has been issued for Long Island:
While visibilities are generally 1 to 3 miles in drizzle and mist across the Tri-state region, they will occasionally and locally fall to 1/4 mile or less in dense fog early this morning. Motorists should be on the lookout for rapidly changing visibilities during the early morning commute. Reduce speed and use low beam headlights.
