Spota, who lives in Mount Sinai, and aide Christopher McPartland, will receive their sentences August 10. They were both found guilty of covering up the beating of a prisoner by James Burke, former Suffolk police chief. (Newsday)

2. News 12 has the story on a Rocky Point High School senior who saved his friend using CPR at Smith Point Beach. On Thursday, Haleigh Manger saw a classmate pulled into a rip current.
