Stormy Weather Possible Through Friday; Heat Index To Approach 100 Degrees
The National Weather Service has updated a hazardous weather outlook for the region with thunderstorms possible over several days.

If you are a fan of hot, stormy summer weather, we've got some good news for you. There are potential thunderstorms in the Long Island forecast Wednesday through Friday. And Thursday promises to be a scorcher with the heat index approaching 100 degrees.
"There is the potential for widespread showers and thunderstorms late Thursday into Friday" a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service says. "Flash flooding is possible."

Wednesday- A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 84. Southwest wind around 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Wednesday Night- A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.

Thursday- A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 95. Southwest wind 5 to 14 mph.
Thursday Night- Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 1am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. Southwest wind 5 to 9 mph becoming northeast after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday- Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 76. East wind 6 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday Night- A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 65.
Saturday- Partly sunny, with a high near 81.
Saturday Night- Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.
Sunday- Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.
