Team Long Island Lacrosse Team Headed to National Championships
Team made up of several local boys is heading to Florida.

When a team is good, people notice, and that’s been the case for the under-13 Team Long Island boys lacrosse team.
The U13 team, which mostly consists of 8th graders and 9th graders predominantly from eastern Long Island, recently received a “bid” or an invitation to compete in the IMG National Championships after winning the Battle in the Big Apple tournament at Randall’s Island back in August. The National Championship will take place on November 22nd and 23rd in Bradenton, Florida.
Sporting a 34-4 record with tournament championships in 4 of the 7 they attended this past summer, Team Long Island has been preparing for the IMG Nationals ever since they qualified back in August.

Other teams who have qualified for the tournament come from Massachusetts, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, among others. The teams will play on Saturday the 22nd, with the playoff and championship rounds taking place on Sunday the 23rd. The games will be held at the IMG headquarters – one of the nation’s premier venues with the finals in each age division hosted at IMG Academy Field, a brand new, state of the art multi-sport stadium facility.
Good luck Team Long Island.
