Tesla Science Center Receives Grant
On Tuesday, June 18th, the Suffolk County Legislature approved a grant of $6,000 for the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe.

SHOREHAM, NY – On Tuesday, June 18th, the Suffolk County Legislature approved a grant of $6,000 for the Tesla Science Center at Wardenclyffe in Shoreham. The grant is a Suffolk County Legislative Omnibus Grant to assist the organization with community events and programs.
“This grant provides the resources Tesla Science Center needs to continue to preserve the legacy of Nikola Tesla, and provide residents with educational and recreational programming to learn about and be inspired by science and technology,” said Legislator Anker. “I look forward to what the Tesla Science Center will accomplish this year.”

The Tesla Science Center, built in 1901, is the last remaining laboratory of inventor and engineer Nikola Tesla, whose accomplishments included alternating current electricity, radio, and the wireless transmission tower at Wardenclyffe. The property is now being restored by the Tesla Science Center not-for-profit organization to honor Tesla’s legacy, teach the community about its rich history, and inspire visitors to participate in science and technology.
