Amanda Palmer Films Harvey Weinstein Music Video In Park Slope
The Dresden Doll artist will film a music video in Park Slope for her latest song, "Mr. Weinstein Will See You Now."

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — The Dresden Doll’s Amanda F***ing Palmer will shoot a music video for her new song, “Mr. Weinstein Will See You Now,” in Park Slope this weekend, the artist announced.
Extras dressed in men's button-down shirts and beige underwear will gather in Park Slope Sunday to film a video Palmer is calling "a feminist #MeToo epic manifesto” about the Harvey Weinstein sex abuse scandal.
“It's gonna be profound,” Palmer wrote in her call-out for extras on Patreon.com. “ Let's do this s**t.”

Palmer — a punk artist who makes headlines for pretending to be a conjoined twin, writing “the worst poem of all time” about the Boston Marathon bomber and headlining the Mermaid Parade with her sci-fi writing husband Neil Gaiman — will join British singer-songwriter Jasmine Power and about 50 female extras in the video directed by Feist video choreographer Noemie Lafrance.
The song, co-written with Power, examines the thought process of a woman about to meet Weinstein — the Hollywood producer accused of raping actresses who now faces criminal charges for sexual assault — alone in his hotel room.

The lyrics detail the hypothetical inner battle between anger and the woman's own sense of powerlessness.
"The sharpening of axes, the fat man rings a bell/Don’t touch me, I’m not here to help/He’ll smother what he captures."
Extras — who will be clad in large white men’s button-up shirts and beige underwear — will be asked to writhe on a bed with other woman, run out a door and down stairs and lip sync.
“We are working with content that is very charged politically and we want to go all the way/not hold back,” wrote Palmer. “[The shoot] could be challenging as we reflect on, embody, and represent painful experiences related to sexual violence."
“This is NOT A JOB FOR THE SHY,” said Palmer. “Bring your bold.”
There will be a rehearsal on Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the shoot will take place on July from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Park Slope.
Organizers did not immediately respond to Patch's request for more information about the shoot.
