Trader Joe's Falafel May Have Rocks: NYC Stores Face 2nd Stony Recall

Also, look out for bugs in Trader Joe's broccoli cheddar soup.

NEW YORK CITY — Trader Joe's pulled food from its shelves because it could contain rocks. Again.

The latest stone-based Trader Joe's recall affected its Fully Cooked Falafel, according to a notice on the company's site.

The falafel — with SKU# 93935 — was sold in New York and 33 other states, as well as Washington, D.C., the recall notice states.

"If you purchased or received any donations of Fully Cooked Falafel, please do not eat them," the notice states. "We urge you to discard the product or return it to any Trader Joe's for a full refund."

New Yorkers could be forgiven a bit of déjà vu with the notice, as it is eerily similar to another recent Trader Joe's recall involving two types of cookie that could contain rocks.

And the rocky recalls sandwiched the squirmy announcement that Trader Joe's Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup could contain an unwanted ingredient: insects.

The July 27 buggy soup recall came just two days after the cookie call for caution and right before the falafel flub.
