Brooklyn St. Patrick's Day Parade Canceled
The Brooklyn Irish American Parade Committee didn't want to try their luck as the coronavirus spreads across the city.
PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — The luck of the Irish couldn't save the Brooklyn St. Patrick's Day Parade from the coronavirus.
Parade organizers the Brooklyn Irish American Parade Committee announced Thursday on Facebook that they would postpone the Park Slope parade.
"Postponing our parade was not a decision we made lightly," the post read. "The Brooklyn St. Patrick’s Parade has been a tradition for many families, businesses, and organizations for the past 45 years. The Parade committee made the difficult decision after the rapid developments that have occurred during the past 24 hours."
