Carroll Gardens Pizza Joint Named Among The Best In New York

BROOKLYN, NY — New York may have slipped to the third-best state for pizza in a new ranking from Food & Wine Magazine, but one Carroll Gardens spot was among the shops listed in a collection of the best pizzerias in the state.

Published Wednesday, "The Best Pizza in Every State" includes rankings of the 10 best pizza states in America. New York finished third behind New Jersey and Connecticut.

Instead of a numbered list of the best pizza places, reporter David Landsel wrote several paragraphs for each state, each containing descriptions of a handful of pizzerias he deemed the very best.

In Brooklyn, three spots made the list: Lucali's in Carroll Gardens, Roberta's in Bushwick and Paulie Gee's in Greenpoint. For Lucali's, Landsel noted that it is so popular that it is "still a pain to get into."
