PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN — Citi Bike has been expanding rapidly this fall, with dozens of new stations now online in Park Slope, Gowanus, Red Hook and BoCoCa.
Despite record ridership numbers, that growth has led to some neighborhood backlash (especially, it seems, among those who missed the Department of Transportation's initial planning process).
Even so, Citi Bike is celebrating its recent growth with a free outdoor showing of The Goonies this week at the Prospect Park Bandshell.

The movie will roll on Thursday, Sep. 22 at dusk (officially at about 7:20 p.m.). Citi Bike encourages those attending to bring their own blankets and chairs. You can RSVP online here.
Pro-bike advocacy organization Transportation Alternatives will be providing a free bike valet service for those who ride personal bikes to the movie, and Citi Bike docks will be available on-site as well. In addition, those signing up for Citi Bike for the first time will receive $25 off their first year's annual membership of $155 (or $60 for those living in public housing).
