'City Of Water Day' To Highlight Climate Change On BK Shoreline
At least nine events throughout the borough Saturday, including at the Gowanus Canal, will focus on rising sea levels affect on urban areas.

BROOKLYN, NY — City of Water Day will return to Brooklyn this Saturday with a look at how rising sea levels affect urban shorelines, even along the Gowanus Canal.
The annual day of activities will include six distanced, outdoor events along the 1.5-mile waterway put on by the Gowanus Dredgers Canoe Club, along with the City of Water Day organizers the Waterfront Alliance and NY-NJ Harbor and Estuary Program.
The events — including an oyster health check, art walk and pop-up dance show and concert — are among dozens that are set up to celebrate the day throughout New York and New Jersey.
