Familiar Face To Run New Eatery In Park Slope Dizzy's Diner Space
The new grab-and-go grill on Ninth Street will be run by the son of a longtime market owner down the block.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A new eatery in the space that once held Dizzy's Diner will have a familiar face behind the counter.
Mourad "Mo" Innab — whose dad has run the Eighth Street Mini Market down the block since the early 1990s — is working on opening a new grab-and-go grill in the Ninth Street spot, which has been vacant since Dizzy's closed amid coronavirus financial troubles last year.
The new business, set to open in late March or early April, has been in the works since Dizzy's announced it would close in the fall. The family had considered expanding to the Ninth Street corner for a while, Innab said.

"We knew the owner, so when he wanted to go out of business, I talked to him and asked if we could take it over," Innab said.

The new eatery will be named Parkview Market after a similar shop Innab's brother runs in Williamsburg near McCarren Park.

It will feature a vast to-go menu including a juice bar, salad bar, breakfast sandwiches, burgers and bagels. But despite its name, the only groceries available will be snacks and a wide selection of beer, Innab said.
"I'll let my dad handle the groceries," he said.
Parkview Market has already caught the attention of several Park Slopers, who raved about the addition to the neighborhood in a local Facebook group.
The excitement is mutual, according to Innab.
"I'm dedicated to it because we've been in the community for a long time," he said. "I've been here since I was 8 [years old]."
