Fire Breaks Out At Park Slope Middle School: FDNY

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A fire broke out on the roof of a Park Slope middle school Thursday morning, according to the FDNY.

Firefighters were called to William Alexander Middle School on Fifth Avenue just after 7:15 a.m. for reports of a fire on the roof, FDNY officials said.

Video from the school shows plumes of smoke on the school's roof while firefighters work to put out the flames. About 60 FDNY members were called to the fire, officials said.

The blaze under control by 8:02 a.m., the FDNY said. There were no injuries.
