Dog Left Tied to Pole for Hours in Park Slope

Sprout the dog was found alone on 14th Street near 5th Avenue.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A group of concerned citizens are on the hunt for the owner of a dog left alone on 14th Street near 5th Avenue, down by South Slope and Windsor Terrace.

The dog, named Sprout, has been given food and water. Locals say the dog was tied up to a pole for four to five hours. Neighbors have contacted the vet, who is trying to locate the owner.

UPDATE, Friday, According to the moderator of the Facebook page Lost & Found Pets in Brooklyn, where Sprout was first reported missing, the person who was petsitting Sprout somehow managed to forget the dog was tied to a pole at 14th and 5th. The good news: Thanks to the efforts of neighbors, Sprout is now home safe with his family.
