Fried Chicken Makers To Open First Outpost In Park Slope
A duo that has run fried chicken pop-up restaurants will open their first permanent eatery on Seventh Avenue, records show.

PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — A new fried chicken joint is on its way to Park Slope.
Plans for the chicken restaurant, which will be called Pecking House, got the go-ahead from Community Board 6 on Wednesday after gaining the support of the Permits and Licenses Committee late last month.
The restaurant is planned for the Seventh Avenue and Lincoln Place storefront where Santa Fe Grill once stood, according to the plans.

Owners Eric Huang, a trained fine dining chef, and Maya Ferrante told the board they chose Park Slope in part because they've seen how the community rallies behind restaurants. The duo had been running out of pop-up locations before applying for the permanent spot.
"We felt [this] is going to be a great addition to the community," Permits and Licenses Committee Chair Rachel Freeman told the board.

The Pecking House will be open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day and include a 30-foot bar and 12 tables, records show. Their application with the board was for a liquor license, which will ultimately be decided on by the State Liquor Authority.
The restaurant is one of several new eateries on its way to Park Slope.
Also approved at the Community Board 6 meeting were liquor license applications for a Manhattan Indian restaurant that plans to move to the neighborhood and a new bar that will take over the Mission Dolores space on Fourth Avenue.
Owners of Pecking House did not immediately respond to a request for more information from Patch.
