Half Of Park Slopers Are Now Partially Vaccinated: Data
The ZIP code covering the majority of Park Slope is one of the first in New York City to reach a 50 percent vaccination rate, data shows.
PARK SLOPE, BROOKLYN — Just about half of adults in Park Slope have gotten at least their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, new data shows.
The 11215 ZIP code — which covers the majority of the neighborhood as well as parts of Gowanus — reached a 50 percent vaccination rate on Wednesday, meaning half of its residents have gotten at least the first of two shots against the virus. The ZIP code is among the first in the city to reach the milestone.
In the smaller of Park Slope's ZIP codes, 11217, which covers a northern slice of the neighborhood and Boerum Hill, 45 percent of adults had received at least one dose as of Wednesday, according to the data.

For the vaccine rates, only two other ZIP codes in Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights and Prospect Heights, had reached the 50-percent marker Wednesday. The borough has lagged behind the other four boroughs since the start of the city's vaccine distribution.
Overall, 33 percent of Brooklynites and 37 percent of New Yorkers citywide had gotten at least one dose of the vaccine as of Wednesday.
The highest vaccination rates continue to be in wealthy Manhattan ZIP codes and other majority-white neighborhoods, underscoring the struggle the state and city have had to fulfill their goal of reaching neighborhoods hardest-hit by the coronavirus pandemic with vaccines.
The vaccination rate hovered as low as 24 percent in nearby Brooklyn ZIP codes in Brownsville, Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights, data shows.
