New York Spring Snowstorm: Light Snow Event Expected
Light rain and snow is expected to develop Sunday afternoon.

It's the first day of spring and the forecast calls for snow.
A hazardous weather outlook is in effect for New York City and much of the tri-state area. The National Weather Service is predicting a light snowfall event with one to three inches of accumulation.
Light rain and snow will develop Sunday afternoon before it changes to all snow later in the day. The highest snow accumulation is expected in Eastern Long Island and Southeastern Connecticut, where winter storm watches and advisories are already in place.

Temperatures are expected to reach mid-40s on Monday so any accumulation is not expected to stick around for too long. As a precaution, the department of sanitation has issued a snow alert that went into effect 10 a.m. Sunday.
